Developing effective teams is an ongoing process for managers and supervisors.  The reality around us is created through multiple interactions that generate shared experiences.  In the highest sense, civilization as a whole is a huge interacting team, each player contributing either negatively or positively towards an ultimate outcome.  The art of controlling these dynamics is what we ultimately call teamwork - people pulling together to create a better world.

Guiding a team capable of accommodating divergent interests is a quest undertaken by many of us each day.  OAC has found through many years of working with teams that tools are available to facilitate their development and that building effective teams requires creating dynamics that promote productive, interactive behavior.  The following catalog items are tools that OAC has found effective for building and reinforcing teams of all sizes.

ZENbyOAC Communication Protocols for Effective Teams – Catalog # T1

This course teaches listening and response strategies that promote effective communication.  It includes techniques for clarifying intent, perceptions, and motives.  It is useful training for technically oriented people who must communicate with others who have little experience in the technical applications being discussed.

It also presents methods for resolving confrontational and distracting influences of participants who by nature create counter-examples to plausible solutions.

Various techniques are presented to promote the involvement of team members, such as, encouraging all team members to participate and establishing behavioral protocols so that ideas can be explored for validity and proper use.

ZENbyOAC Metaphors – Catalog # T2

Recognizing that communication occurs on many levels, mastering the art of metaphor can substantially increase the quality of communication that occurs, not just in business settings, but in all walks of life.   Metaphor establishes the psychological framework from which results can more readily manifest.  When properly constructed, metaphor can be instrumental in helping people to develop more effective working or personal relationships.

This is an entertaining and interactive course.

ZENbyOAC Complex Equivalents – Catalog # T3

Given some experience with the cultural system, one eventually develops parameters that tells him what he knows or what he experiences, as a result of what he believes.  These parameters are called complex equivalents.   Exploring complex equivalents helps one to understand what a person needs to hear, see, say, feel, touch, do, etc. to receive internal validation or confirmation.  Through the exploration of complex equivalents, managers, supervisors, and workers can learn how to work better together by understanding what it takes to validate the good will of others.

Length of Course - 1/2 day (4 hours)

Minimum number of participants - 10

Maximum number of participants - 20

ZENbyOAC Reframing Negative Experiences –Catalog # T4
